The game is short, and rough on the outside, yet what splits players hardest isn't the shooting — it's the reason each of them ended up here.
One botched summoning and a long line of portals home
A summoning ritual goes wrong, the dead get up, and the one left holding the bag for somebody else's mistake is a demon who only wanted to go home. That is the premise of Succubus With Guns: to get out, she crosses portals into other worlds, and in each one a boss stands guard at the exit.
Between one portal and the next, the game is hordes of zombies and other monsters gunned down in third person, the camera tight behind the heroine's shoulders. Weapons and ammo sit stashed along the way, and the game itself warns against spraying: the undead do not go down easy. This is a campaign of fixed levels, not an open world — same demon, same escape, level after level.
The studio that didn't stop at bug fixes
Satur Cat, the studio behind the game, did not walk away from the project after release on October 8, 2021. The updates that followed fixed hit registration on shots, tuned control sensitivity and cut respawn time from thirty seconds to fifteen.
In January 2024 the game picked up translations into seventeen languages, Brazilian Portuguese among them. A whole new campaign came next, called Winding Path, with five missions, weapons of its own and a crafting-and-loot system much like the one in the endless mode already there. The demon got a new outfit for the trip as well.
The players who recommend it rarely mention the aiming
Players who recommend the game almost never mention the aiming. One with seventy-eight hours logged jokes about missing the chance to build cover the way other shooters allow, but praises how inventive the zombie enemies are — proof that all the teasing did not stop the return trips, and there were many. Another, with a single hour played in December 2022, sums the package up as pleasant and short on ambition. The same joke keeps surfacing among people who have played, almost a password between them: the controls take both hands, and little time is left for anything else. The newest account, from September 2026, comes from someone who played five hours, cleared every achievement and admits that the real draw was the character — enough to recommend it, not enough to keep playing.
The same complaint, in three different languages
The players who advise against it agree in Portuguese, Russian and Turkish — unusual, for complaints that line up so closely. A Brazilian player tires of the same endless zombie arena within the first few minutes and gives up on the opening level, in December 2025. Half a world away, a Russian write-up from May 2026 calls the combat crude and linear, and concedes that the one thing worth looking at is the demon's own model. A Turkish one from April of that same year gets the most technical: it points to genuine aiming trouble while moving and to the missing sense of impact when shots land, and closes by saying that, without an interest in the character's more adult look, the hours do not pay off. Both sides say the same thing about what holds the game up: even the ones griping grant that the title character is the high point — the difference is that for some it is enough, and for others it does not cover the rest.
Who should step into this line of portals, and who should turn back
Succubus With Guns is not for anyone who wants a shooter that stands up as a shooter: the aim misses and the variety is not there, and that weighs the same in any language. It is for anyone who will take a campaign that is short and rough on purpose, held up over years of small updates and by a full expansion the studio never had to make — and for anyone who, like a good share of the people playing, is there for the demon on the cover and will not pretend otherwise.
